If you’re going to keep a small USB lamp next to your computer, then it might as well be a computer-themed lamp. This Esc key does exactly that. It plugs into your computer and offers a little subtle lighting to help you see while you’re working in dim conditions. Although it won’t point light directly at any paperwork, it’ll at least add to the lighting you already have.
The Esc key works by just pressing down on the key to turn it off or on. It’s pretty basic stuff. Then to keep it powered, you just plug it into your USB port on your computer. As you might have guessed it uses an LED light to make it slightly more energy efficient. It measures 150 by 130 by 75 millimeters, so it is a decent size. While being small, it’s probably not small enough to make it travel friendly. You can purchase the light for $16 through USB Brando.

ZAGG offers ZAGGsparq
When it comes to iPhone and iPod accessories, ZAGG is one name that many people are familiar with, especially with the popular invisibleSHIELD and ZAGGaudio brands, but this time round they are offering something slightly different. It won’t protect your iPhone or iPod against knocks, drops and scratches, but it does something which most gadget-toting folks would appreciate – by virtue of it being ZAGGsparq, a portable lithium polymer battery system that can provide multiple charges for any personal electronic device as long as they are powered by a USB plug.
As many frequent travelers can testify, you tend to run out of juice for your gadgets during the most inopportune of moments, especially when you just need to make that particular phone call only to have your phone die on you before the third ring is over. As mentioned earlier, the ZAGGsparq is able to provide a portable battery charge for any USB-charged device, where it includes cellphones, handheld gaming systems like the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP and digital cameras among others. You can hook up the ZAGGsparq into a standard wall outlet, where you get a couple of USB 2.0 ports to go along with it to charge up two mobile devices simultaneously. Acording to ZAGG, the ZAGGsparq’s internal battery is more than capable of holding up to four complete recharges for your regular Apple iPhone.
The 6000ma lithium polymer cell found in each ZAGGsparq is able to be charged over 2,000 times before one experiences a significant drop-off in battery life, and by that virtue, the ZAGGsparq is one of the world’s most powerful portable battery – size-wise, at least. Assuming you juice it up once every three days, that ought to last you for around 6 years, where by then you probably won’t have any use for it anymore as you would have probably come across other more power-efficient solutions. You will be able to place your order for the ZAGGsparq for $129.99 a pop if you don’t happen to have the habit of charging your gadgets each night before you go to sleep.

Greenhouse Cork USB Drive
Those that enjoy their bottles of wine on a pretty regular basis, might like a reminder of what is waiting for them if they can ever manage to get their work done for the day. This cork may not look like much, but once opened up it reveals a flash drive to keep all of your important or not so important documents on.
It’s a pretty simple device beyond that it has the novelty of being a cork. Plus it is nice that the cork actually has the USB drive’s information printed directly on the cork. Then you’ll always be able to easily remember that there’s only 2GB of memory on the drive. It’s not out just yet though, it’ll start shipping out at the beginning of February. You can currently pre-order it for ¥ 4,750.00 or about $51 from Geek Stuff 4U.

Peanut Memory Stick Holder
Even hearing about a memory stick holder, most people would instantly write it off as ridiculous. At first, I would have agreed. However, there are several cases where it could make life a little more convenient. A lot of USB drives have a way to hang onto them through their lid. If you lose that lid though, you lose the ability to carry it on your keys. This holder would allow for you to store your USB drive on your keychain and keep it safe.
It’s just a small peanut shaped holder that conceals your drive within it. Really, I think it’s better than a lot of the drives that comes with the keychain attached to either the drive itself or the lid. Either option comes with complications. This way you can solve both issues by storing it in a neoprene case (that’s the stuff they make wetsuits out of). You can purchase one of these cases for $6.99 through Pop Deluxe.

Folderix Flash Drives shaped like folders
Those poor yellow folders don’t seem to get nearly as much use now that you can do a great deal of your paperwork on the computer. Sure, paper copies of things are still helpful, but those folders will never be used as much as before. If you’re feeling a little sentimental and want to show that you remember the paper folder, now you can have a flash drive that’s shaped like one.
Alright, so it was actually designed to look like the folders within your computer. Which means for those of you that like to take your computer interactions a little more literal, this would work great. Then when you say you need to put something in the folder, it’s going into an actual folder shaped drive. It’s available in 3 different colors, the gold/yellow color, blue and purple. These drives designed by Art Lebedev can hold 4GB of data and will cost you $55 a piece.

The 24-Port USB Hub
If you have USB devices coming out of your ears, then you might need a hub to help you out with that. This hub manages to keep a full 24 ports available for you to jam your USB related items into. For the average person you might have to get extremely creative in order to fill up all of those ports. However, I’m sure there are others out there that are fully capable of finding a use for a hub of this size.
The hub comes in only the color sequence seen here. It keeps things pretty basic, it doesn’t have any flashing lights or come in a silly shape. Instead it just makes sure that you’ll never have to buy another hub again. Just plug it into your computer and it’ll be ready to go. You can purchase it for $69.99 from USB Fever. That is a slightly steep price, but considering all of the ports built into it, it may be worth the price.

Audio-Technica AT-LP60-USB LP-to-Digital Turntable System
Most young people these days already own a portable media player or digital audio player of sorts, and many of them grew up weaned on an iPod, moving on with each new iteration that Cupertino releases each year or so. Ford SYNC takes Wi-Fi route
The next-generation SYNC system for Ford vehicles will see an unprecedented improvement from the company – it will boast an integrated in-car Wi-Fi system that will run off your USB mobile broadband modem, turning all four wheels into a moving hot spot to help you start working even before you head off to the office. While those who can’t get enough of Facebook and other social networking sites even for a while will be pleased with this, others might not be so happy since they no longer have any more excuse to catch up on their reading or beauty sleep while they are on the road.
This new capability will be available as a standard option on selected SYNC-equipped vehicles without the need for any extra hardware or subscriptions that goes beyond the user-supplied mobile broadband modem. Don’t worry too much about security though, since the standard WiFi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) security protocols will be in force, which means only owner-permitted devices will be able to access the network so that in-car users won’t have to worry too much about having their computers hacked. All you need to do is insert your own compatible USB mobile broadband modem into the SYNC’s USB port to produce a secure wireless connection which will then have its signal broadcast throughout the vehicle.
The USB port offered by SYNC enables owners to leverage a variety of devices, where among these include the mobile broadband modem. The SYNC system can also be continuously upgraded through simple software updates, helping SYNC adapt to hook up with a variety of the latest devices. Not any Tom, Dick or Harry will be able to hook up to the SYNC system though – the driver must specifically allow that device to connect so that you won’t have any strangers or unauthorized users from “piggybacking” on the SYNC-provided signal.

Wooden Cannon USB Speaker
I’m not sure if it’s the holiday season or what, but lately I’ve had a high appreciation for wooden toys. Being an adult, I really have no need for a bunch of wooden toys. For those full grown adults that miss the good old days, now you can own a speaker that looks much like those handmade toys. This way you get to be surrounded by toys, but they still have a practical purpose.
This wooden cannon plugs into your USB port and then works as an extra speaker. It has a 3.5mm headjack that’ll allow for it to work with items like your iPhone or MP3 player. It has a cable length of 90cm and a 2.5W + 2.5W output. Since it’s powered through the USB port, you won’t have to worry about messing with batteries. You can purchase the Wooden Cannon USB Speaker for $22 through USB Geek.

The Hand Grenade USB Drive
If you really enjoy your personal space, this might be one good way to make sure you get it. Frankly, no one wants to mess around with the guy that happens to carry a grenade flash drive, it’s just probably going to make people a touch nervous. That is unless you’re well known for enjoying goofy flash drives, then it’s unlikely that this trick will work. If you don’t want to look too dark and cryptic, you can always purchase the grenade in one of the brighter colors instead of black.

USB Snoop Stick
Do you wonder what people are always up to on your computer whenever you are not around? TheUSB Snoop Stick comes in handy then, as long as you leave it plugged in discreetly. We would say that this works best when you’re running a desktop (a notebook would be wayyyy to obvious), especially when this is a machine that is nestled away in a dusty corner of your cubicle with a mess of wires providing enough coverage.
All that’s required is to slot the Snoop Stick into a USB port and run the installation program that appears. To remotely monitor your PC, all you need to then to is to insert that same SnoopStick in any Internet-capable computer’s USB port and choose “Connect and View Remote Activity.” The SnoopStick will then start displaying what the computer is accessing on the web, or any IM conversations, as well as email activity and software used. You can also download and view the activity logs that the Snoop Stick software has recorded. Snoop Stick can also take screenshots automatically at pre-set intervals, or whenever websites are accessed. You can also send messages to anyone using the computer, and you can also remotely cut off Internet access, log off all users, or shut down the computer. It’s also possible to set up the Snoop Stick to watch out for certain key words or to monitor when specific websites are being accessed.
Sounds like the perfect covert device, eh? The USB Snoop Stick is the right device for folks who want to know what their kids are up to with the computer, and is legal where private investigators or law enforcement activity are concerned. Expect to fork out£74.95 for this puppy.

Peregrine Gaming Glove turns your hand into a controller
As I tried on the Peregrine glove, and I couldn’t help but feel like Tom Cruise’s character from Minority Report. Granted, I didn’t have a giant glass display with motion controls, but I did have the ability to touch 30 points of my hand to get control in a game.
Even though I was at a gaming convention, I’m not too big in the MMO games. Many of the controls are quite complex, and attacks are often performed with by hitting some keys simultaneously. Sometimes having a hotkey on the Peregrine glove could easily give the player a great advantage. There is a video of it after the jump.

Nio insures no gadget is left behind
“You hear that, Mr. Anderson, that is the sound of inevitability. That is the sound of a stolen gadget.”
“My name is Nio.”
Not the first time that I have used dialogue from The Matrix to introduce a new product. This seems to happen every time I report on a product with a name that sounds like “Neo“. Today it is the Nio security system.
The Nio is a very simple concept. It uses “tags” that are synced via Bluetooth to a mobile device. These tags can be placed on briefcases, expensive gadgets, or anything else that you don’t want to let out of your sight. There’s a video of it after the jump.

SteelSeries Merc Stealth Gaming Keyboard
I am not really into MMO games, but I’m sure that you or someone that you love (or, in this case, not love at all) is into them. Clearly, he or she might be wanting a gaming keyboard like the Merc Stealth.
The Merc Stealth is made by SteelSeries, makers of theZboard. The user won’t be able to fold up his or her keyboard with the Merc Stealth, but you have to admire its blue glow. By the way, that glow has two other options of purple and red, and four different illumination modes including subtle, ambient, intense, and off. (Yes, off is considering an illumination mode.)
